We are still looking for representatives from EHS (Smith), TRJ (Fowler), Other School Sites (WNP, CNT, WHR). If you are interested in serving on the Policy Council, please contact your family advocate.
Reminder, our annual volunteer training is tomorrow at 8 a.m. This orientation is for all approved volunteers and anyone that may plan to apply to volunteer this school year.
If you are an approved volunteer, or plan to apply to volunteer at TRJ, please plan to attend our annual Volunteer Orientation next Wednesday, September 2 at 8:00 a.m.
Head Start encourages all dads to volunteer at least one day each school year. Join us on Thursday, September 17, at 5:30 p.m. to learn more. All dads, or any man invested in the life of your child is encouraged to bring the kids, give mom a night off and join us for activities focused on dad. Look for more information in your child's folder next week.
Classroom ballots went home today for our Policy Council. Please complete and return the ballots in your child's folder tomorrow.
Next week TRJ will be celebrating attendance with special days Tuesday through Friday. Be part of the fun by wearing your support each day.
Thursday is the last day of school for students. We will have early dismissal from 10:45-11:15 a.m.
Due to activities planned at TR Jackson this week, we will be participating in Teacher Appreciation week, next week rather than this week.

We are pleased to invite you to attend our Kindergarten Transition Meeting on Wednesday, April 22nd, from 8:30–10:00 a.m. in the ETC at TR Jackson. This meeting is for parents of 4 year old children who will be entering kindergarten in the fall.
This informative session is designed to support families as they prepare for the transition to kindergarten. You will receive important information about the kindergarten registration process and what to expect during your child’s kindergarten year.
Both the State of Florida and the Federal Head Start Program recognize that transitioning from prekindergarten to kindergarten can be confusing, challenging, and sometimes overwhelming for children and families. Because this transition is so important, we are required to meet with you to share essential information and resources to ensure your child’s success.
Even if you have an older child, kindergarten represents a significant step for young learners, and we want to make this experience as smooth and positive as possible.
To make the morning enjoyable, refreshments and door prizes will be provided.
During the meeting, we will share information about:
• When, where, and how to register your child for kindergarten (if you have not already done so)
• Required registration documents
• Next steps for children with an Individualized Education Program (IEP), including speech or language services
• Breakfast and lunch services, including procedures for children with food allergies
• Expectations of kindergarten teachers
• The kindergarten curriculum and learning goals
• Transportation services
• Who to contact if you need additional assistance or support
You will also have time to ask questions and connect with other parents whose children are transitioning to kindergarten.
We look forward to meeting with you and supporting your family during this exciting transition.

Our annual Scholastic Book Fair begins Monday. The book fair i open M-Th 7am-9am and 1pm-2pm, Friday 7am-12noon. The Book Fair will also be open during the STEAM Fair Wednesday afternoon from 3pm-5pm.
Children currently enrolled in the Head Start Program must be registered at their receiving school for kindergarten. Please note, if your child is currently enrolled in the Head Start Program- DO NOT -complete the online registration process. Contact the school you are zoned for to register in person.
We hope you enjoyed Spring Break. Remember, Monday is a teacher planning day. Students return Tuesday.
